Reference: Hebrews 4:15 NIV
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.
There is a saying, “Experience is the best teacher.” Not to disregard experience as an effective means of learning but some experiences can kill you! I believe experience combined with effective listening and discernment is the best way to learn anything. So then any experience can be a teacher, even ones I never experienced personally. I don’t need to get hit by a car to understand not to play on the freeway. Likewise, I can listen to Holy Spirit to avoid pitfalls and traps because Jesus has dealt with all tests that have been setup for my downfall. He’s the answers in the back of the book! He’s the real life know it all. So why then, does it make sense for me to walk into anything without running it past him?
